- Open a Short in ShortHop.
- Tap Float.
- Use the floating player’s skip buttons to change videos.
Set up Back Tap
In ShortHop, open Back Tap. Choose Double Tap for the next video or Triple Tap for the previous video, then tap Start setup.
The guide floats over Shortcuts and Settings. Tap the guide to show its controls, then tap the forward-10 button for the next step.
Double Tap uses a shortcut named ShortHop Next with the Next Clip action. Triple Tap uses ShortHop Previous with the Previous Clip action.
Assign each shortcut in iPhone Settings → Accessibility → Touch → Back Tap. Keep your iPhone unlocked when testing. Assigning a shortcut replaces the action already assigned to that gesture.
If a video won’t float
Check iPhone Settings → General → Picture in Picture. Return to ShortHop and try another video. Playback links can expire, and some videos do not provide a compatible stream.
Other video apps
TikTok, Instagram Reels and Facebook Reels are experimental. Choose Try other apps, play a few videos on the service’s website, then tap Float videos. Sign in on that website if needed. The prototype plays a limited queue; some videos and signed-in feeds may not work yet.
